While the idea for summit park came as early 2006, the space to build the park was not available. When the Blue Ash Airport was sold, the city of Blue Ash took this golden opportunity to initiate phase one of the project. Tax money is the main funding for this project.

“This is just really cool to have such a nice park so close to our houses, we truly are blessed and fortunate to have this” sophomore Regis Liou said.

Phase two has just been completed, which means the grounds and the sprawling playground have been completed, as well as the base for the gigantic stage/performance tower combo that will be completed by early 2017.

“The new base for the stage is really cool, and even though it is only a base, the height of it provides a pretty respectable view of the city.” senior Elliot Levy said.

Phase one includes a modern metallic playground, a large field to play games and run around in, and a trail around the field. Phase two consists of the base for the giant show stage. As well as a huge lawn that separates the stage base from the playground

Although this is a good addition to the Blue Ash community, the big picture is nowhere close to finished. As the official unveiling of Summit Park said that it would take several more years for the entire vision of the park to be completed. Things to expect within the next few years are a seasonal skating rink, commons with a glass canopy, and the Summit Park Community Center.

“I love going to Summit Park with my mom and family to have a good time and unwind over the weekend” sophomore Varun Kalaiarasan said.

Although Summit Park is nowhere near complete, it is still a great place to take a walk in and hang out with friends. Also the convenient location at the former Blue Ash Airport makes it easier for patrons to attend.
