EVERYBODY WINS. While only one lucky nominee from each of the five individual categories will walk away with a golden statue in hand, all of them will receive an extravagant gift bag filled to the brim with a diverse array of products. From a stay in a Spanish lighthouse, to amethyst bath bombs, these bags really do have it all. “If I had to pick one item to keep from the bag it would definitely be the cruise, but it all sounds amazing,” said Julia Mott, 10.

NOT SO CHARMING. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are getting out of the spotlight by stepping away from the monarchy, which is not as charming as it seems. This is unprecedented territory. Even so, does anyone in SHS care? The answer is no, if the average student is anything like freshman Nicole Payton who said, “I’m not really sure [what’s happening with the British monarchy]. I know someone left and someone else is made, but that’s about it.”

A rather infamous part of Australia’s bizarre fauna, the koala population of Australia is at grave risk during these fires. The creatures are slow-moving and find it hard to escape from oncoming flames. In New South Wales, the home of thousands of koalas, an estimated 8,000 bears have been lost to the blaze. Australia’s environmental minister, Sussan Ley explains that “It may well be up to 30 percent of the population in that region [was killed], because up to 30 percent of their habitat has been destroyed.”

WORLD WAR 3. While there have been many rumors about possible chaos and drafting taking place, we don’t have to worry just yet. In order to begin drafting citizens, Congress would need to pass a law and get the president’s signature. And to be considered a world war, there would have to be more involved countries than just Iran and the US. Freshman Josie Zink said, “I don’t think it’s going to happen because so many countries have said they are not taking sides.”

You are not getting drafted

WARM AND COZY. Regardless of the temperature outside, our love for a cup of hot chocolate during the winter months refuses to falter, especially with the many variations available. Above, the green mug holds the Peanut Butter Cup Hot Chocolate, the red mug has the Chocolate Hazelnut Hot Chocolate, and the white mug houses the Hot Chocolate Ice Cream Float. “Hot chocolate is one of my favorite drinks during the winter months. It keeps you warm, tastes good, and you can just cozy up around the fire and relax with your friends and family with it,” said Amanda Renner, 10, avid hot chocolate enthusiast.
