The ladies softball team has both a varsity and a junior varsity. The team is comprised of students from all four classes and is looking to expand in the future. The team is currently ranked seventh in the Greater Miami Conference.

Mr. Ovingtons fourth bell class diligently prepares for their final and their AP exam.  They finished their last unit in the class, on Mon. Apr. 25, and will follow a plan separating what they’ve learned all year into four periods and making timelines for each period.  The students, while extremely stressed can’t wait for May 7 and have already begun planning which movies they want to watch in the weeks of school following the AP exam.

Senior captains Michael Sorger, Kevin Fitzgerald, Tommy Barnhorst, and Andres Cardenas helped lead the Varsity Men’s Lacrosse team to victory against Indian Hill on April 21. Junior goalie Evan Schuster came up big with a set of clutch saves to help propel the Aviators to their eventual 9-5 victory. The competitive game against the Braves is the seventh in a series of highly contested matches between the two teams spanning the last seven years.

In a survey conducted by the staff of The Leaf on students at SHS, the average time that students set their alarm in the morning is 6:00 a.m. The vast majority of students say they use their phone as an alarm. If school started at 9:15 students who wake up at 6:00 would now need to wake at 8:00 a.m.
