DECORATE. Mr. Sean Minion’s SHS classroom is revamped this year, with many new decorations added. Some of the additions to the room were made by students. “Considering our tremendous growth in just one year, I’m anticipating even greater accomplishments and experiences for this year,” said Carolyn Zhang, 11.

CREATIVITY. French club participates in seasonal activities throughout the year. Students made masks for Mardi Gras, collected donations after the hurricane in Haiti, and made gingerbread houses in December. This year, the club hopes to continue it’s engaging activities.

DIRECT. Senior Sarah Horne performs a direct examination of her witness, played by junior Adam Meller, at the regional mock trial competition. The purpose of direct is to allow the witnesses on one’s own side give their side of the case and is extensively prepared and practiced beforehand. Both attorneys and witnesses are scored based on the content and presentation.

Zhang and Kulkarni discuss their analyzations on the case. Mock Trial meetings are held Tuesdays at 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Fridays after-school for two hours. Although they will not compete in competitions, students who foster an interest in law are welcome to the club to come and learn.
