France is famous for their breads and varities of different cheeses. Some of the most well know french cheeses are Camembert, Brie, and Boursin. The french club has a diverse selection of food at every meeting, especially at their picnic meeting.

The French Club prepares for their next meeting on Nov. 18th, where the club will be tasting different cheeses and chocolates. Usually the Nov. meeting is fondue, but that will be pushed back to Jan. due to lack of materials.
“I love any type of french food so I think that even though it won’t be fondue it will still be amazing just because french food is amazing,” said Emilie King, 11.
The club’s last meeting was a petanque tournament, a french sport similar to bocce, which they played out by the baseball fields on Oct. 28. The winning team consisted of juniors Ryan Tufts, Jenna Bao, Lavanya Konda, and Aiden Reckamp.
“I think that it is cool to be able to play a game that is commonly played in France with friends and learn more about their culture,” King said.
The club meets once a month to immerse themselves in the french culture in different ways, whether it be through sports, food, or the language. Other meetings include a french picnic at the beginning of the year, and a gingerbread contest in Dec.
“I love French club because it allows us to become immersed into french culture even from halfway across the world, and it makes being in class a lot more enjoyable knowing more than the grammar and vocab of the language,” King said.
