The Beatles reunite at the Grammys

The Beatles were one of the best bands of all time. Even today everyone knows who they are and what they have done. Even if only two Beatles are still with us today, their music will never change. Photo creates to MCT photo.

The Beatles broke up in 1970 and since then, whenever they got together it was a big deal. So naturally when rumors of Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr performing together on the Grammy Awards surfaced, viewers could not wait for the show.

Ringo performed first, playing the song “Photographs,” while old Beatles pictures flashed in the background.

McCartney performed his new song “Queenie Eye” on his album “New” that came out. Ringo accompanied him on the drums so this was first time they had performed together since 2009.

“I was so excited to see them together I cried,” said Karina Rosa, 9.

The piano that Paul was playing was reminiscent of the artwork on their album “Magical Mystery Tour.” Its bright colors brought people back to the 60’s and connected his new song back to the Beatles.

McCartney also won a Grammy for best Rock song and he won another Grammy for long form music video. It is clear that he is not going to be stepping out of the spotlight any time soon.

Throughout the program there were commercials for the program that will be on CBS on Feb. 9. This show will be a tribute to the Beatles and will highlight their performance on the Ed Sullivan show 50 years ago when they won the hearts of Americans for the rest of time. About the Contributor
Hannah Frey, Leaflet Editor in Chief
My name is Hannah Frey and this is my fourth year being a part of the Leaf staff. I joined the Leaf because I wanted to expand my involvement in the SHS community and I wanted to learn more about graphic design. I am passionate about social equality and the social injustices that occur in our affluent society. Being in this class has helped me to see that I want to work for a nonprofit organization and help solve these problems. I am currently the editor and chief of the Leaflet, which is our online, design-based magazine. Every issue, I pick a new topic to be covered. Using design to cover these issues attracts another audience for the Leaf and makes it entertaining to have an in-depth look about a topic. Journalism has helped shape the person I am today, and it will help me excel in my desired field of work.
