Helping hurricane victims

September 21, 2017

With time moving along, it seems that the hurricanes and their effects are long gone. But the truth of the matter is, those hit by Harvey and Irma are far from recovered.

By taking an hour of your time and heading to Matthew 25 Ministries, you can make a big impact in the recovery for these individuals inside and outside of our country.

If you do not have the time to volunteer, take a few minutes at home and gather some items you have sitting around at home. M25 accepts the following items:

  • New and gently-used clothing (new underwear and socks must be in original packaging)
  • New and gently used shoes
  • Candles and flashlights (if necessary, include the correct size batteries with donation)

Or, stop by a grocery store near you and give back by picking up some of the following items:

  • Non-Perishable food items with a pull top, or ready to eat dry goods such as nuts, peanut butter, dried fruits, granola, bottled water
  • Paper products (paper towels, toilet paper)
  • Baby and infant supplies including wipes, diapers, baby wash, shampoo, and lotion
  • Personal care products such as toothpaste, hand sanitizer, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, lotion

Take the time to help those who desperately need assistance throughout the recovery of Harvey and Irma.
