Last week, students taking AP Language and Composition dived into “The Anthropocene Reviewed” by John Green. A podcast that later evolved into a collection of essays, “The Anthropocene Reviewed” reviews different aspects of the planet we live in today on a five-star scale.
“John Green had a lot of detailed and unapologetic opinions,” said Brianna Luo, 11. “It was definitely one of the best books I’ve ever read.”
After reading Green’s book, students then participated in a seminar discussion this week, focusing on the universal themes present in each of the essays, including the human footprint, the responsibilities of humans both as a whole and as an individual, and the struggle to define what it means to be a human.
