For Charli Pruitt, 10, success is rooted in kindness, empathy, and being there for others. She defines it as “showing kindness to the world and finding love in everyone no matter what.” She also considers it “being able to show that you’re there to support people.” Motivated by seeing her siblings experience exclusion, Pruitt is driven to help others feel seen, included, and valued. She said growing up around this showed her how much people need support and reminded her how powerful it is to simply let someone know they are not alone.
To Pruitt, leadership means stepping up to help simply because it matters. “It shows that you don’t have to get paid in order to do something,” she said. “I don’t expect anything, I just want to be able to help.” Through her volunteer work with special education communities, animal shelters, and local organizations, Pruitt leads with hard work and genuine care, hoping to encourage others to “just show love.”
Pruitt believes success comes from effort, not talent alone, and says hard work is what truly builds strength and purpose. If she could tell her younger self anything, it would be “not to be scared to be yourself.” Pruitt believes being confident in who you are can inspire others to do the same. Through every act of service, Pruitt hopes to spread acceptance, compassion, and the reminder that everyone deserves kindness.
