Oliver Erck, 10, began gymnastics at age seven for fun but later turned his interest into national level competition, placing sixth at the 2024 Eastern National Championships. Today, he competes as a level 10 gymnast and excels on pommel and floor routines. The road to becoming a level 10 gymnast is exceptionally difficult; it is considered one of the most intense and challenging levels in gymnastics, requiring various complex skills and a huge time commitment.
Erck takes pride in offering honest advice and always being there for his teammates, as well as setting a good example for the younger gymnasts who will follow in his footsteps.
But his story does not end on the mat. Around two and a half years ago, Erck began diving over the summer for fun. What started as a summer experiment quickly turned into a new course of success, which later led him to joining a club team based at the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati Dive Academy. His gymnastics background helped him catch up and even surpass other athletes that had been diving longer. He has qualified for nationals every year of club competition and recently placed ninth on the three-meter springboard at the 2025 USA Diving Junior National Championships.
