Elise Wegener, 11, is an astounding example of a student who can do it all. Wegener is the owner of her own baking business, “The Frosted Flour.” Wegener began her business just over a year ago by selling beautifully decorated cookies to her mom’s co-workers. As praises of her work spread, her business took off, reaching a wider audience. Wegener said her business has grown to be more professional and to be able to better fit her busy schedule.
Not only is Wegeners a small business owner, but she is also a very talented track athlete competing on the SHS pole vaulting team and placing 2nd at the Greater Miami Conference League meet. Wegener also is an outstanding seamstress who designs and sews fashionable dresses. Her designs were showcased in last year’s Fashion For The Cure fashion show and her designs for this year’s show are currently in the works.
In the future, Wegener plans to continue running The Frosted Flour and hopes to pursue either fashion or recipe development in college. From sports to academics to having her own business, Wegener is a talented and hard working student who has and continues to strive for perfection.
