Small but mighty, DJ Club is full of collaboration, creativity, and music that opens opportunities and unforgettable experiences. But it almost came to an end. President Jackson Daniels, 10, describes the club’s struggles to move forward with most members graduating. “It was my job to carry on our founder’s legacy here at the high school,” Daniels said. In an amusing backstory, he started with an accidental decision to join in on a meeting one day because he didn’t have a ride home.
DJ Club’s meetings are full of practice, listening, and feedback. Each member brings their own unique skill and music style; they strive to create an environment that thrives on collaboration. Daniels noted, “it’s always really fun to hear what everyone has to bring to the table.” The group consists of three concurrent members. Daniels said he prefers it small, mostly because it creates an environment where everybody’s thoughts are heard.
DJ Club is more than just a club; it is a hidden gem—a place where members come together to create not only music, but art. With this shared love, the tight-knit community means so much more.
The club may be small, but its influence reaches across the school and beyond. They have performed at various occasions, but one that stood out the most was Symmes Elementary’s 4th grade dance. Additionally, they plan on performing at this year’s after prom.
Through DJ Club’s meetings, performances, and shared creativity, this small but mighty group proves that no matter what size you are, you can make a big impact on the community. Each member’s own style and ideas bring the club together and can make any event memorable. This club continues to grow, inspire, and bring the party.
