Senior art on display in Washington D.C.

Laurel Taylor

Ford Town, USA 1960 was created by Taylor when she was a junior. It won the 2014 Duck Tape Brand Award. Taylor also won the 2013 Duck Tape Brand Award for a different piece.

Senior Laurel Taylor‘s work, Ford Town, USA 1960, will be on display in the main office at The President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities main office as part of a special exhibition of National Award-winning work from the 2014 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Her piece, which was created with Duck Tape®, will hang alongside 81 other works of art. On Friday, Sept. 9 there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We are honored to present Laurel’s art as an example of the very best creative work by our nation’s emerging young artists,” Associate Manager of The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers Courtney Buckland said.
