The Varsity Football team will take on Oak Hills on Sat. Sept. 27. The game will take place at Bud Acus Alumni Field. The Aves come in with a two win, two loss record, and the Highlanders (Oak Hills) are one and three.

After getting off to a rough start in Greater Miami Conference (GMC) competition by losing to Princeton, the Varsity Football team will take on Oak Hills in their second inner conference match-up.

Instead of being on Fri. Sept. 26, the game will be played on Sat. Sept 27. This is due to the recent announcement that SHS’ second game at home will be aired live on WTSR Channel 64.

“We are pumped to play on live television. We have been working so hard in order to showcase our talent,” senior Ray Stoneberger said.

The game is featured as the “Game of the Week” on the Star 64 Saturday High School Rivals Series. This event put on for five weeks every season showcases teams all across the Cincinnati area. Viewers unable to attend the game can watch live on Star 64.

“I am excited because I will be out of town this weekend, but I will be able to stream the game to my computer,” senior David Muskal said.

Oak Hills comes in with one win and three losses. Their lone win did come in GMC play when they defeated Hamilton 20-ten. They also put up a strong effort against the defending Division II State Champions, Loveland, losing 13-14 in overtime.

“It will be an amazing atmosphere on Saturday night. Hopefully we can play strong on both sides of the ball and come out with a win. I am excited to watch,” junior Joey Mattis said.
