Breakfast is important to help maintain a good, healthy balance of nutrients in your body.

It is a great kick start to the day. Breakfast helps regain vitamins and restores the levels of glucose you lost while sleeping. It is scientifically proven that breakfast lowers stress and improves your mood and concentration.

In multiple studies, including a research piece in “The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition,” it is shown that people of all ages who eat a good breakfast have less body fat compared to people who skip the meal, because those who omit breakfast tend to snack constantly throughout the course of the day.

Some people have problems with time management issues and cannot fit in quality time for breakfast.

“I usually do not eat breakfast because I do not wake up particularly early and it upsets my stomach,” junior Nora Dukart said.

As long as you eat your meal within the time frame of two hours from waking up you should have no trouble with your health.  Experts say that this helps to achieve thinking to the best of your ability and improve your memory.

To have a fulfilling breakfast you should have different sources of protein, calcium, fiber and a variety of vitamins.

“I eat Chex cereal or a piece of toast and an apple because it is quick and I like it,” junior Daisy Heppert said.

This meal has a fruit which is a prime source of vitamins. It also includes a piece of toast for fiber. Adding milk or cream cheese on the toast could have helped for calcium. Some protein sources include most cereals, eggs and cheese.

“I eat yogurt every morning because it is healthy,” sophomore Sarah Guckenberger said.

A quick way to improve yogurt would be to put some fruits and granola chunks with nuts. This is a simple way to build on your regular breakfast while still getting the required nourishment.

Breakfast is a key factor in helping improve your well-being and education. It is best to start getting into the habit of eating a well-balanced breakfast and it will help from now on.
