Coach Chris Shrimpton, Varsity baseball coach, along with the other JV and freshman baseball coaches will be attending weight lifting to see who the players are that show up.
Weight lifting began at the beginning of November. The drills consist of benching, curls with a dumbbell and bodybuilding with the use of free weights.
“I do not think of weight training as an exercise, as much as hanging out with friends,” said Casey Elsbrock, 11.
All of the weight training will build muscle along with endurance for the season ahead. Along with weight training, conditioning will begin in the middle of January.
“Over the course of the five months that we condition, I could definitely see a difference in my muscles,” said Ryan McCann, 11.
Weightlifting will begin in November and will occur on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and conditioning will be held on Tuesday, and Thursday.
Last season, JV held the best record compared to Varsity and freshmen. As the season approaches, the teams will play at their highest level of capability and will try to compete with Mason and Hamilton for the top spots.
“Hopefully this season we can string some wins together and go into the playoffs on a high note,” said Brady Ridener, 12.
