Adrian Peterson has pled guilty to no contest to a misdemeanor charge of reckless assault as a part of a plea deal that saved him from jail time. This came from the allegations that he beat his son with a “switch”.

Peterson now has to move towards his return to the NFL, and that may be a long process. The commissioner’s office still has not taken action on his case and there could be some suspension time coming his way.

Teammates seem to be willing to take him back after this extended absence. Tight end, Kyle Rudolph, told reporters, “Guys have chatted amongst each other, and I don’t think there’s anyone in that locker room that would need to hear from him. We all know the kind of person Adrian is, and I feel like he’s proven that over his time here.”

Sophomore, Clayton Bennett said, “Peterson is one of my favorite running backs in the league. It was disappointing to see him get in trouble but on the other side he made one mistake. How many times have we seen a Bengals player forgiven for something they got arrested for?”

Peterson would also be returning to the public as a player, instead of as a court case. He was originally apart of the week that to

re the NFL’s credibility apart, along with the Ray Rice video.

The coach that has had to deal with this issue is former Bengals coach, Mike Zimmerman. He has had a tough time in his new job dealing with injuries to starting quarterbacks Matt Cassel and Teddy Bridgewater.

Peterson will be returning to 4-5 Minnesota Vikings team that is struggling to throw the ball, ranking second to last in passing yards per game. Peterson may also help their average running strength, considering he was one of the top rushers in the league over the last three years.

The Vikings will really need his production against their upcoming schedule including four games against divisional opponents, and one against the second rank rush defense in the New York Jets.
