As part of their sports unit, the Contemporary Hispanic Studies (CHS) classes spent a bell doing yoga and meditating.

All tables were pushed to the sides of the room and yoga mats were placed in the center. The class then did yoga from a 20 minute YouTube video. The entire video was conducted in Spanish.

After yoga, the class watched a 15-minute video that guided them through meditation.

“Meditation was great; it actually made me a lot more relaxed throughout the rest of the day,” senior Elizabeth Gibson said.

CHS teacher Ms. Meredith Blackmore avidly performs yoga.

“Doing yoga for even just five minutes each day will make you feel so much better,” Blackmore said to the classes.

Blackmore is also the yoga club advisor. For more information on yoga club, visit shsleaf.org.
