Interstellar premiere makes waves
November 25, 2014
Released seventeen days ago, director Christopher Nolan has already made big noise in the box office with his new sci-fi thriller Interstellar.
In the film, a group of astronauts travel through space in order to find a planet that is better suited for humans to live without Earth’s problems. Viewers of the film say that the movie has reached the same complexity of Nolan’s 2010 hit Inception.
“Interstellar was great because it was different than any other movie out there,” said sophomore Noah Stern. “You always had to pay attention and the phenomenal acting added suspense to the plot and quality.”
Not only was the story line so interesting, but Nolan was also able to book stars Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway as main characters in the movie. McConaughey and Hathaway have recently starred in big flicks like Wolf of Wall Street and Les Miserables .
Though it has only been out for over a week, movie website IMDb has already ranked it number 12 on all time greatest movies, comparing it with classics like Shawshank Redemption, The Godfather, and Forrest Gump.
“I think it is well deserving of being up their even though it is a young movie,” said freshmen Kevin Russell. “If everyone likes it so much, then why shouldn’t it be so high?”
Interstellar has made almost three times as much as its budget of $165 million.
