No shave November going on strong

While we’re nearing the middle of the month, plenty of students are not shaving.  Not many individuals have given up and “Movember” is going on strong.

“I love No Shave November, although it basically just gives me an excuse to not shave” sophomore James Traub said.

The real purpose of No Shave November, better known as “Movember” is to raise awareness for men’s health issues. Originally, it was meant for men to grow moustaches over the month.  But the meaning of the tradition has been distorted over the years.

“I think it is really a great cause, however it is sad that most people are not aware of the true meaning” senior Reed Bie said.

Despite the unawareness for the cause, many students and even teachers still participate.  To freshman it might be a odd sight to see almost every other person having a beard, but it is one of those special things that make SHS special.   Movember is going on strong and it does not seem to be stopping soon.

Beards like the one that Anthony Lombardi is growing are very common at this time.  “I’m not sure whether to fully participate or not” Lombardi said.
