Eminem and Shady Records drop new album
December 9, 2014
Eminem is reaching the end of his career and is starting to move into a new phase; becoming a producer. His label, Shady Records, released its first album as a group of various artist that it has helped produce and some rappers that Eminem himself discovered.
These artists include icons like 50 cent, Bad Meets Evil, Royce da 5’9”, and Eminem himself, and relative newcomers like Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf, D12 and Obie Trice. The track is debuting at number one on the iTunes album chart and released Monday, November 24, 2014.
There are 25 tracks on the album, split into two 12 song sections with one bonus song. The first section is new works like SHADYXV, Detroit vs. Everybody, and Twisted. The second set of 12 includes tracks we have already been introduced to like, P.I.M.P., In Da Club, and Lose Yourself. The bonus song is the demo version of Lose Yourself and is available to people who buy the entire album.
This album is one of the best albums of the year and rivals some of Eminem’s prior work just due to the fact that there is so much star power available for Eminem to tap into him. This balances out the fact that Eminem is no longer the rapper he once was and cannot hold down an album by himself.
This album is also the hip-hop version of passing the torch on to the next generation. Eminem is passing the torch on to the next generation and will be appearing more in the studio to produce young artist like the way Dr. Dre is working now.
Whether or not Eminem is moving to the background or not, this new album was a signature of the icon and will be a gateway towards new projects either as a producer or trying to continue one of the greatest rap careers ever.
