Student views on Super Bowl XLIX
The New England Patriots will take on the Seattle Seahawks in the latest match up for Super Bowl XLIX. It will be the 49th edition of the Super Bowl and the 45th since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970.
The game is scheduled to be played on Feb. 1 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. For only the third time ever, the Seahawks will play in back-to-back Super Bowls, beating the Denver Broncos last year.
Coincidentally, the last time a team played in back-to-back Super Bowls, the Patriots beat the Carolina Panthers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
“Personally, I love this matchup, it features one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game of football,” Senior Greyson Marks said.
“The Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the leagues. They are known as the ‘Legion of Boom’ for all the vicious hits they lay on their opponents,” Sophomore Caroline Veraldo said.
“No matter what the outcome of the game is, I am rooting for the game to be close I would much rather prefer that then a blowout victory like last season,” Junior Miles Goldfarb said.
Last season, the Seattle Seahawks beat the Denver Broncos by a score of 43 to eight. This was the Super Bowl win for Seahawks and the fifth Super Bowl loss for the Broncos.
Super Bowl L (50th edition) will take place next year in San Francisco, CA. Super Bowl LI will be held in Houston, TX and the following year will be in cold and snowy Minneapolis, MN.
