It is that time of the year again. SHS is hosting their annual dodge ball tournament. Teams of seven people will compete to be the ultimate tournament winner. The matches are determined by a bracket system. The winning team will receive a Chipotle gift card.

“I’ve just created a team, so I’m very excited to participate, and I’ll definitely try my hardest to win,” senior Adam Lucken said.

Each game will be monitored by two referees from Student Council. They will be watching the half way line, fair play, and sportsmanship.

“I know that it was successful two years ago. It will be a challenge to recreate that,” committee head Kevin Fitzgerald said.

It costs $35 for a team to enter. This averages out to $5 per teammate. The final day to enter is Thursday Jan. 29 at lunch. If spectators wish to watch, the tournament it will take place in the Gregory Center from 4:30-6:30.

“There’s so much going on this weekend that it’s hard to decide what I want to do. I’m thinking of stopping by the tournament before going to Catch Me If You Can,” junior Brianna Dooley said.

Jan 30 has three events: Hockey Senior Night, Catch Me If You Can, science fair and the dodge ball tournament. The tournament is earlier in the afternoon than the hockey game and the play, making it easier to attend more than one activity.
