The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, known as ‘the BMGF’, was founded in 2000 in Seattle, Washington. The foundation aims to allow everyone to have an equal opportunity to succeed. It is the “largest philanthropic organization in the world” said journalist Karl Mathiesen. Currently it holds about 42.3 billion dollars. Around the globe, this foundation focuses on helping fix poor, unsanitary conditions and the eradication of diseases as malaria, polio, and HIV. Additionally, in the US it helps to further education with programs as the College-Ready Education, which makes sure that all kids graduate from high school and have a chance at college.
