“This past year was my first year dancing. Before this I was a cheerleader since kindergarten but I have really enjoyed the Flyerettes. I am really excited for the new coach and to hear her new ideas and to see what she has in store for us this season,” said Davis. Photo courtesy of McDaniel’s Photography.

With the season over and tryouts in a couple weeks freshman Gabrielle Davis is preparing for them.

1.) How are you feeling going into tryouts?

“I am feeling really good. I feel like I have grown so much as a dancer over this past year and am really looking forward to next season and what is ahead.”

2.) What are you doing at tryouts?

“At tryouts we are asked to perform the 16 counts of the dance that they teach us on the two days before the tryouts. We do this with a partner or with a group. Also, they ask us to perform any skills we have.”

3.) What are some of your skills?

“My skills include: jumps, turns, leaps, and kicks.”

4.) How many people are returning for next season from this past season?

“As of right now I think there are ten girls coming back. That is a large amount considered to last season and we are hoping to have a lot of incoming freshman tryout.”

The clinic for tryouts will be held on May 18 and 19 from 3:30- 5 p.m.  in the main gym. Tryouts for the team will be held on May 20 at 3:30 p.m. in the main gym.
