The Hilton Head trip offered a unique opportunity for the boys lacrosse team to bond outside of a competitive setting. It also allowed the team to start the season on a positive note, winning three close games to tough east coast opponents. “We spent a lot of time with one another and got the opportunity to see each other and our coaches in a different setting,” junior Michael Sorger said.

What could be better than spending a few days vacationing on the beach? That’s what the boys lacrosse team thought as they headed down to Hilton Head on March 27, in order to play a few games against some powerful East Coast opponents.

“Lacrosse has traditionally been more popular on the east coast, and so we knew we had a few tough opponents ahead of us.  We were confident that we could put up a fight,” junior Kevin Fitzgerald said.

The team did fight, winning all three of their games in stylish fashion.

“We were able to pull out the victory in three fairly close games. Definitely a solid way to start the season,” Fitzgerald said.

In addition to lacrosse games and practice the team had time to relax and bond, an equally important activity in the creation of a strong team. Having gone through this experience together the team is now ready to face the challenges of the upcoming season.

“We spent a lot of time with one another and got the opportunity to see each other and our coaches in a different setting. We learned new things about each other and became closer as a team,” junior Michael Sorger said.
