Giving cheers for Homecoming Day

The parade begins with a procession of police cars and ambulances that pass by with flashing lights. Following behind were the students, staff, and administrators. Some walked while others came in vehicles.

The Cross Country team enjoys being pulled along in a wagon. “It was bittersweet. I knew this was my last year to be in the parade,” senior JoAnn Su said.

The Flyerettes look out at the crowd from the back of a pickup truck. “It was fun seeing everyone enjoying themselves, especially the people in the parade. I can’t wait to help out with it next year,” sophomore Isabelle Augustin said.

The administrators and school board members wave at the crowd. Mostly wearing green and gold, the four slowly made their way past the younger aviators. They were followed by the cheerleaders.

Behind the cheerleaders and football players is the Aviator. He enthusiastically waved at the bystanders. With a big grin, the Aviator showed off his school spirit.

Following behind the Aviator, the marching band plays the Flight Song and Paradise by Coldplay. “I enjoyed marching with all of the upperclassmen. They were all very supportive,” freshman Maia Davidson said.

Two overly enthusiastic Aviators, Miss Jennifer Mott and Mrs. Lisa Zelvy, dress up to show their Sycamore spirit. They smiled as they made their way down the road. Behind them, Superintendent Dr. Adrian James was seated in a white car.

The candidates for Homecoming King and Queen walk, carrying bags of candy. “It was so fun to be a part of the parade. I can’t wait until Homecoming next year!” freshman Sivan Yarchi said.

The Water Polo team waves from the back of a truck. They threw pieces of candy at the crowd. A few vehicles behind them, a line of police cars with lights flashing brings up the rear of the parade.
