Tennis looks repeat at State tournament
Senior Aditya Venkitarama placed fourth in the Southwest District Tournament. This finish booked his spot to the individual OHSAA State singles tournament at Ohio State on May 29. He will then compete Sun. May 31 in the OTCA Team State Tournament at Reynoldsburg High School along with his other teammates.
The Varsity Gold tennis team will compete for the final time throughout the weekend of May 29 in Columbus in the Individual Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) State Championships and the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association (OTCA) Team Championships.
On Fri. May 29 and Sat. May 30 the individual State Championships are held at the Ohio State University Outdoor Tennis Facility.
Senior Nakul Narendran and Junior Alex Taylor, senior Alex Wittenbaum and sophomore Noah Stern, and seniors Aditya Venkitarama and Deepak Indrakanti all qualified for the individual tournament.
The whole team will then travel to Reynoldsburg High School on Sun. May 31 for the OTCA State team tournament. They will compete in the semifinals against fifth ranked Toledo St. Johns at 8:00 am.
