“One of my other highlights of being on the Flyerettes was definitely the basketball games. I loved dancing at all the games during pre-game and halftime. I also liked how we got to do pom, jazz, and hip hop all in one routine which was different,” Brod said. (Far right) Photo courtesy of McDaniel’s Photography.

Senior Leah Brod is ending her dancing season with the Flyerettes.

  1. How long have you been on the Flyerettes?

“I have been a member of the Flyerettes since freshman year.”

  1. Are you planning on dancing in college?

“Right now I do not plan to dance in college but I could change my mind because dance has been a big part of my life ever since I started Flyerettes.”

  1. What’s your favorite style of dance?

“My favorite style is a combination of hip hop and jazz. I like them both because hip hop is a lot of isolated movements, while jazz is tons of jumps, turns, and kicks.”

  1. What’s the best memory from your years on the Flyerettes?

“My best memory has always been when we go to the competitions. I was really sad this year when we didn’t get to go to one this year especially because it is my last year.”

  1. How do you manage your time?

“It is really easy to get everything done because the season is over, but during the season I was really busy with practice every Tues. and Thurs. and we would have multiple games a week.”
