Senior Jonathon Rollins prepares himself to bump the ball. The team currently has four seniors. “The seniors are great kids and it has been a pleasure to coach them,” Coach Brady Schuler said.

Junior Mitchell Singstock readies himself for an incoming. As well as playing for the men’s volleyball team, Singstock also runs cross country in the fall.

The team does a cheer before continuing the game after a time out. Their current record is four and four and their goal is to make it to the state regional semi-finals. “I would like to go to the state regional semi-finals so we can take on a Catholic school. Catholic schools notoriously have really strong volley ball programs,” Coach Brady Schuler said.

Schuler gathers his players for a time out. During time outs, the coaches are able to discuss what the players are doing wrong and how they can fix it so that they can win the game. Time outs are especially important towards the end of close games when the coach is able to tell his players to perform a special play.

Schuler watches the game on the sidelines. “[The team] has done pretty good. Against the top teams in our league we played really strong. Against some of the weaker teams, I don’t know if we took a break that day, but it seems like we didn’t play to our full potential,” Sculer said.

Senior Alex Wright waits for the ball. Wright is currently ranked 26th out of 71 players in the GMC conference for serves. He is ranked 28th for serves.

Senior Andrew Bemmes encourages his teammate during the game. Bemmes is ranked 19th in the GMC for attacks. He is also a member of the marching band.

Two of the varsity players work together to set a ball. Teamwork is extremely important in the game of volleyball. It is vital that the players communicate with each other so that there is no confusion on the court.
