The downstairs hallways will be designed in a similar manner to the current upstairs hallways. They will have facts about each subject and there will be video boards on them with information about SHS history. These will be designed by Shaun Fitzgibbons who was a 2003 SHS graduate. Remodeling the IMC began on March, 18. All the books were removed as well as the furniture. Next, the book shelves were torn down and the parts were taken out. The original design for the new IMC was going to have a coffee bar and a tech station in it, which has since been modified. Photo Courtesy of Jordan Baker

After the books, tables, and shelves were removed the company remodeling the IMC moved onto the carpet. They tore out every inch of carpet in the IMC even behind the desk. They took the carpets out in long strips. There is no current information on whether the IMC will be re-carpeted or if tile will be inserted. Photo Courtesy of Jordan Baker

After the carpet was removed, deconstruction of the IMC front desk began. They had to remove the shelves and cabinets that were attached to the desk. After that the removal of the entire the brick and stone around the back room of the IMC began. To be removed jack hammers were brought in to accomplish brick wall removal. Instead of the three or four tables that are currently in the front office space there will be a new waiting area. There is no design yet for the layout of this new waiting area. There is also a possibility that this waiting area could be next to the new location of the front office. Photo Courtesy of Jordan Baker
