Album ensures band’s vision
October 28, 2015
5 seconds of summer have been saying from the beginning that they are not just another boy band, and this new album looks to be ensuring their claim. Sounds Good Feels Good is set to release Oct. 23.
Sophomore Stephanie Hong said, “I wanted to see them when they came close to Cinci but I was on vacation, both times they came! It was devastating seeing my friends at the concert and me not being able to go!”
The four man Australian group consisting of Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Ashton Irwin, and Michael Clifford, opened for One Direction in 2013 and has become a worldwide phenomenon since then.
Hong said, “If you asked me who was my favorite in the band it would constantly be changing due to the fact that I love all of them equally and couldn’t pick just one.”
After their first album was such a success, this one should be no different, with it’s first single, ‘She’s Kinda Hot’ being named song of the summer at the MTV music awards.
It also gives the band the ability to experiment with different genres of songs and create their significant “voice” of music. Which they explain to be more like All Time Low and Blink-182 than One Direction.
Hong said, “Some One Direction fans are afraid to associate with the group in fear of being judged, but I don’t think that anyone from the 5sos family is ashamed to say that they love those boys, which is a good sign.”
