The Battle of the Skies trophy has been retained by SHS the past three years. This game always marks the end of the regular season. A spot in the playoffs is usually at stake as well.

The boys Varsity football team had a very close game on Oct. 14. They lost 38-36 in the final minute. Their overall record is now 4-5 and their record in the GMCs is 3-3

Senior Ben Schehr said, “It was a terrible way to lose, all we had to do was hold them on that final down.”

Their next opponent is Mason; they will play at Mason on Oct. 30 . They are currently 5-1 and are third in the GMCs.

Freshman Andrew Greenberger said, “It was super disappointing the way we lost. At least we have a huge rivalry game to end the season.”

We have beat Mason the past three years to retain the Battle of the Skies trophy. It is on display in the main entrance of the building.

Scores from the last three games:
2014: 36-0
2013: 35-28
2012: 42-23

There is no chance for Varsity football to go to State after they lost to West. That does not mean they will not try and destroy Mason on their home turf. Nothing caps off a season like a victory against a rival, even Mason does not think of us as rivals
