Dancing the night away: Students enjoy Homecoming

Elizabeth Rickert, Print Editor-in-Chief

  • Homecoming took place on Oct. 3. Student Council organized the event beginning the first day of school. They divided up into different committees: pep rally, spirit week, parade, decorations, and business.

    '
  • Health teacher, Mr. Ed Clark DJs the event. Clark regularly DJs as a side job. He has DJed the last four homecomings.

    '
  • Seniors Gwen Constand, Calob Francis, Mackenzie McMullen, Brooke Landrum, and Garrett Cambre dance to the music. McMullen said, “Homecoming was really fun this year. The music was awesome and I went with a great group of people who were really into dancing.”

    '
  • The students with disabilities were brought by their aids. Homecoming is one of the rare events that these students can attend and enjoy very easily.

    '
  • Senior Lucas McCutcheon and his date rest. Volunteers hand out water in the snack shack all evening long. The volunteers consist of parents and teachers.

    '
  • Students rest at the new tables. Due to these tables and The Hangar Student Council moved the dance floor to the other half of the commons. Positive feedback was given saying that the smaller side of the commons allowed for a more intimate dance floor.

    '
  • The dance theme was Around the World. Student Council hung various flags along the back walls. This was one of the first times that the Commons itself was decorated.

    '
  • Juniors Max Hill and Caroline Bruns won Homecoming court for their grade. Each grade has a winner, except for the seniors who have two. They are honored at the parade, football game, and the dance.

    '
  • The hallway leading up to the commons was decorated with various countries including Hawaii, Mexico, India, France, and China. It was decorated by Student Council Fri. evening and Sat. morning.
