Senior Divyesh Balamurali thinks of a tactic as he faces off another player. Balamurali was selected as the captain of the chess team. And played the first board throughout the season.

Sophomore Victor Lim picks up pawn piece in the position F-4 during his turn. Lim played second board throughout the season. Lim was selected as “first team” during the GMC competition, meaning he was voted within top ten players.

Freshmen Max Guo waits for his turn as he faces an opponent. Guo played the third board throughout the season. Guo was also selected as “first team” during the GMC competition.

Beth Quinones observes the players competing against each other. Quinones coached the chess team and led them to victory among the GMC. Quinones said, “I am glad that we were able to bring back the trophy and I am very proud of the students who worked hard.”
