Senior divers Cameron Foy and Thomas Capouch had a little surprise for their friends during the swimming and diving senior night. Both used their last dives to perform belly flops. Foy said, “It was a great way to end the night.”

Senior divers Cameron Foy and Thomas Capouch capped off the diving senior night in a big, and rather painful, way on Jan. 26.

In front of a silent crowd of around 100 fans, both divers summoned their courage and performed a belly flop.

Foy said, “I told my friends before the meet that I had a special surprise for them, and to pay attention. Then, on the last dive, I went up and fell hard, right on my stomach. Thomas did the same thing. It was a great way to end the night.”

Out of respect, the judges awarded both divers perfect scores of 10. These scores , of course, did not actually count, as both dives were disqualified.

Foy said, “The dive may not have counted, but everyone enjoyed it. It left me with two massive welts on my stomach, and the skin turned black for a little.”

Despite the disqualification, Foy took first in the meet by a margin of 30 points, and Capouch took third.

Video evidence of the flop is posted on Twitter.

Foy said, “Senior night was about having fun in our last home meet. Given a second chance, I’d do it all over again.”
