Novel touches taboo topic of mental health issues

The book It’s Kind of a Funny Story, by Ned Vizzini covers the strong topic of mental health. It’s based on his own stay in a psychiatric hospital. It makes a heavy topic easier to digest, and has an interesting plot line.

The book “It’s Kind of a Funny Story” is about a teenage boy who suffers from depression, which stems from his new elite school.

He checks himself into a psychiatric hospital where he meets a lot of different characters all of whom are suffering from different mental health problems.
