Last years dance was a smashing hit. It was themed through the ages. Couples dressed up for the occasion.

Sycamore High School’s annual Odd Couples Ball will be held this year from 6 to 10:30 p.m. on March 12 in the SHS Commons.

The theme this year is “A Night in New Orleans.”  The evening features appetizers, jazz, jugglers, dinner, dancing to a live band (Waiting for Ben) and DJ Eddie Clark, and after-dinner coffee and king cake (a New Orleans pastry treat). The event is run by the Sycamore High School PTO.

This Sycamore tradition is an opportunity for students to share an evening with that special adult in their life (mom, dad, aunt, grandparent, older sibling, etc.) Students may attend with an adult guest (over age 21 unless they are a recent Sycamore HS graduate). An adult may attend with two students (e.g., an adult could bring siblings or their student and a friend of that student.) Dress for the evening is cocktail attire, or attire fitting the theme.

Reservations and payment can be made online at  no later than March 3. Or, you can fill out a paper form (available at the on line address, or at the front desk at school) and turn it in, with payment, at lunch on the following dates: Feb. 19, Feb. 26, Feb. 29, March 2, March 3 and March 4.

Cost for this year’s event is $25 per person (includes appetizers, dinner, dessert, beverage). Dinner tables seat a maximum of 10, and everyone will be assigned to a table. Attendees are encouraged to gather a group on their own, and list them on the reservation form. If your group is smaller (or even just two people), volunteers will match you up with others from your graduating class.

Volunteers are needed before, during and after the event. To volunteer, sign up online. Students interested in service hours can contact Angela Radakovich at angela@radakovichfamily.com.
