The boys and girls swim teams competed in the Ohio High School District Championships on Saturday and Sunday 20-21 at Miami University. Swimmers who placed in the top 32 in their events at sectionals qualified to swim.

Senior Ted Vlady said, “I was really happy that I made Districts in the 100 fly. It was a great way to end my senior year.”

In order to move on to the Ohio High School State meet, a swimmer must place in the top 24 in their respective event out of all of the districts. The state meet is held the week after Districts.

Senior Mary Fry said, “The state meet is extremely competitive. The atmosphere is really amazing, and it is great to be at a meet with some of the best swimmers in Ohio.”

The preliminary session will be held on Fri. Feb. 26. Finals, which consist of the top 16 swimmers in each event, will ensue the following day.

No SHS boys made it to the state meet. The girls who made it are as follows:
Senior Priscilla Wu: 200 medley relay, 50 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 200 free relay
