Cabaret is in the newly redone Hub. Students auditioned with their chosen song beforehand to Mr. Holt. On Feb. 20th at 7:00 p.m. students are waiting to the side of the Hub to take the stage. There was food and drinks available throughout the Cabaret performance. All photos curtesy of McDaniel’s Photography

Freshman Miriam Chowdhury said, “The most stressful part was waiting your turn to come up on stage. I was waiting for over an hour. Performing was nerve racking but you knew you had good support; your family and friends were there for you.”

Cabaret is a chance for SHS students to share their voice, without an entire choir around them. For freshmen it was their first chance for their peers and families to hear their voice on stage. Then, for seniors it was one of their last chances to share their voice here.

There are solos and groups performing on the stage of the Hub. Freshman Lydia Taylor sings with her brother, senior Alex Taylor. Brothers and sisters sang songs, so did a father and daughter, and a musical group claimed the stage.

Students sing songs that are popular now. Some students sing songs from decades ago that remain some of their former popularity. All participants got to pick their own song.
