The band gets ready to perform by entering the field. This competition was the first one where they could actually compete outside. The group will perform next at Lebanon High School.

The instrumental group had their first performance on an actual field at Hamilton High School.

Rain has prevented the students from showcasing their skills with drill for the past two weeks, meaning this competiton is the first true perfomance for the band.

“I liked doing the swing flags because it shows off all of our skills and because everyone is together,” said Olivia Jobe, 9.

This performance was also an Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) based competition instead of Bands of America (BOA), which has different categories and scoring compared to what the band is used to.

The next competition will be on Sat., Oct. 1, at Lebanon High School, and will enable the band to further their show, playing all three songs of their show.
