Copfer gets Wright State scholarship

While we normally cover current SHS athletes here in The Flyover, some big news came from ’16 grad Julia Copfer as she has received a scholarship to play basketball at Wright State University.

Copfer was fifth in the GMC last year in scoring with 13.7 points/game and tenth in the GMC in rebounding with 6.1 rebounds/game. Wright State opens their season on Nov. 11 against Tennessee Tech.

Bonner wins Beacon Orthopedics Player of the Week

Another week, another honor for senior running back Ra’Von Bonner. This week, he was named the Beacon Orthopedics Player of the Week by WLWT News 5.

Bonner says in the video that, “he loves Sycamore,” and highlights his teammates, coaches, and family as reasons why he has accrued all of his success and accolades. Bonner, a three-star running back who is committed to Illinois, won the honor after rushing 27 times for 230 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-0 SHS win over Lakota East.
