The Flyover 10/20: Goodyear to visit UK, and more

Goodyear to visit Kentucky

In more realistic news, 2018 lineman Tate Goodyear will be taking a visit to Lexington this weekend to watch Kentucky take on Mississippi State.

In recent years, Kentucky has made it a habit to try and pluck Ohio kids by making a relationship with them early, and that is certainly the case with Goodyear.

Goodyear does not have any FBS offers yet, but will almost certainly pick up a few by the time Signing Day 2018 rolls around.

Duncan picks up PWO offer from Cincinnati Christian

Some more good news came for the SHS football program when it was announced that 2017 safety NaDarrien Duncan received a preferred walk-on (PWO) offer from Cincinnati Christian.

The difference between a PWO and a traditional walk-on is quite large. PWO’s still have to pay their own way (they do not get a scholarship), but they are guaranteed one of the roster spots allotted for walk-ons. In other words, they do not have to try out. Former SHS LB/TE Philip Silverman (’14) is a current PWO at Ohio State.

Duncan- who transferred to SHS from Aiken this summer- has not recorded an official stat this year, according to the GMCSports.com game logs. However, GMC does not track tackles, so Duncan almost certainly has actually recorded a stat.
