S.A.L.T. impacts sports
October 31, 2016
Sports are huge, especially if you mix sports with leadership. SHS is known to have leaders. S.A.L.T. is not currently working on anything right now, but it did have a big impact with the fall pep rally.
“We are not doing anything right now, but we are planning something with OGB (Operation Give Back) this winter,” said Mr. Ed Clark, gym teacher.
Clark is the person in charge. How S.A.L.T. works is, coaches will nominate students they think can be the team leader(s). The students get to collaborate with the others who were nominated and come up with things for sports activities.
“I feel pretty honored to be chosen for S.A.L.T. because I get to connect with the other sports leaders,” said Jeremy Pletz, 11.
Pletz plays Varsity soccer.
“Being chosen for S.A.L.T. made me happy, because my coaches chose me and it felt good to know they wanted me to represent the team in some way,” said Brooke Baker, 12.
Baker participates in cross country.
Do you every wonder who picks the themes for the football games? You guessed it! That would be your S.A.L.T team. They have a list of all the football game themes and what the attire should be prior to the first day of school i.e. white out, Hawaiin shirts, black out, and jersey night.
