Last week, we broke the news that 2017 SHS tennis player Varun Kaliairasan has committed to and will sign with Wright State to continue his athletic and academic career. I was able to talk to him about why he decided to pick the Raiders.

“Coach Eric from Wright State trusted in my potential and gave me an opportunity. I respect him enormously for that. The team was incredibly kind to me. They are from all over the world. I knew that if I went there I would be exposed to a whole new experience with tennis,” he said.

Congratulations again to Kaliairasan.

With the signing period officially open, three players have decided to end their recruitments and sign with their schools. Basketball player Jayden Sayles (Akron), baseball player Nick Wade (Transylvania), and runner Kevin Lawson (Dayton) all signed with their respective teams last week.
