Assistant coach and history teacher Andrew Ovington watches over the boy’s basketball team before a game. Over the offseason, the team lost six seniors to graduation. This year, the team has only three seniors.

Center Tate Goodyear, 11, awaits a pass in the lane from a teammate. As a sophomore, Goodyear averaged 3.5 rebounds. He will retain his starting role on Varsity this year.

Attacking the basketball, Williams puts both hands on the ball to prevent a turnover. Off the bench, his season high in points last year was eight. With the loss in seniors, Williams will see an increase in play time.

Point guard Christian Kelly, 11, sets up the offense at the top of the key. As a sophomore, Kelly averaged 5.7 points per game. He will retain his starting role on Varsity this year.

Looking up court, foward Myron Williams, 11, finds a teammate for a pass. Williams is one of seven juniors on Varsity this year. There are also three sophomores on the team.

Star center Jayden Sayles, 12, attacks the hoop for a dunk in a game last season. A junior transfer from Kings, Sayles averaged 13.6 points per game last year. Sayles is committed to play hoops at Akron.
