Bunbury festival lineup released

CHANGE. Bunbury has two main stages, Sawyer’s Point and Yeatman’s Cove, and two smaller stages, River stage and Pavilion stage. These stages are different from the original six stages set up around downtown Cincinnati. The change happened in hopes to make it more easily accessible to concert-goers to get from one stage to the next in less time.

The music festival on the first weekend of June has released its new lineup for the 2017 festival with names like the 1975, Death Cab For Cutie, Muse, Jon Bellion, and G-Eazy. This year the festival is on June 2-4.
“I love the lineup for this year! It will be extra hard to decide which day to go since I can guarantee that I will like a couple bands on each day since there are so many,” said Stephanie Hong, 11.
In years past Bunbury has been categorized in the alt-rock music genre, with performances from Fall Out Boy, Weezer, Walk the Moon, Twenty-One Pilots, and many more.
“My friends and I went to see Twenty-One Pilots from the purple people bridge two years ago because we were too broke to buy full day tickets, but it was still a lot of fun and we surprisingly could still see a little bit from behind the trees,” said Sophie Gaylon, 11, “They filmed part of their music video for ‘Lane Boy’ there and whenever I watch it I can point out the trees we were behind.”
But this year the festival tried to branch out, adding more hip-hop and electronic artists to the lineup like Bassnectar and Wiz Kahlifa. This decision was partially based on positive feedback from performances by Ice Cube and deadmou5 last year.
Tickets are only available for all three days as of now due to the fact that the daily lineup hasn’t been released. But as soon as the lineup is released, single day tickets will be available as well.
“I like the fact that you can either choose a single day or three day pass because some people might not be able to afford a three day pass, or may not have enough time to go all three days,” Hong said.
