So long, farewell

Kirsten Thomas, Staff Writer

  • SWITCHEROO. Between acts, dancers distract the audience while the next act is set up. The ship ties into the storyline of the adventure being taken. The ship is seen numerous times throughout the performance.

  • TWIST. Circus members twist and twirl around the spheres hanging from the ceiling. They perform many tricks on the inside, and outside of the spheres.

  • SKILL. One performer runs along the outside of the circular cage. At one point, the performer adds in a jump rope, and jumps while running. All of this is being completed while the whole object is moving,

  • LIONS, OH MY. Numerous lions sit on their stools, and move to the center, one by one, when told. First sitting, the lions then laid down. Each performed numerous tricks when instructed by their trainer.

  • FETCH. Trained dogs wait on the bench, and wait to be called down to perform their skill. All of the dogs were black or white, but varied in size. Dogs came in and out from behind the stage throughout the act.

  • FAREWELL. Saying goodbye, all acts leave the arena stage. Spectators begin to stand up, and head towards the exit to leave, or by concessions and souvenirs. Opening night in Cincinnati has come to an end.
