Sign up for AP Art History

Why did the Taliban destroy the Bamiyan Buddhas? Why does the Chinese government censor and imprison some artists? Why did Hitler confiscate national and private art collections?

Students in AP Art History receive the opportunity to learn about these cases and much more.

“AP Art History tells the story of humanity,” said Mrs. Kathy Ferguson.

In class, students critically analyze various art pieces, explore different historical and cultural contexts, and consider the impact of outside factors including patronage, gender, ethnicity, politics, and religion. No prerequisites or art experience is necessary.

It is not too late to sign up! All you need to do is either visit Mrs. Ferguson in room 145, email her at fergusonk@sycamoreschools.org, or meet with your counselor.

Anyone can enroll.

“This class is for… students who want a UNIQUE experience. It will also make you stand out on college and scholarship applications!” Ferguson said.
