After former senior Orchid Wang got First Team last year at the state tournament, the girls golf team has a big season ahead of them. Some SHS students participated at the annual Spring Girls Golf Camp that started April 8. Now the season is in full swing.

Mr. Matt Starr coaches the Varsity Girls Golf team. Coaching JV is physics teacher Mrs. Julie Haverkos, which is a team of seven girls. JV has three more games in August, all away except for August 28 against Loveland.

“So far this season lots of players have gotten injured,” said Claudia Aronoff, 11, JV golfer.

Aronoff was also injured after her first match but has been going to the games to give support to her team. On the team are seniors Isabella Stevens and Sasha Justice; juniors Anna Enriquez, Morgan Schneider, and Aronoff; sophomore Shruthi Chidambaram; and freshman Sia Sindhwani.

“I like golf because it is a socializing sport,” Aronoff said.
